Giftmacher (whose name means "poison maker") is responsible for the chemical weapons. Tom Hall's art of Otto Giftmacher as shown in The Official Wolfenstein 3D Hint Bookįrom The Official Wolfenstein 3D Hint Book: Also like the Schabbs battle, if the player manages to get behind an object that blocks movement it will protect the player from projectiles while they can continue firing their hitscan weapons to knock down Otto's health.ĭefeating Otto will end the episode so conserving health or ammo for after the fight are not a concern. Much like the Schabbs battle, it is wise to attack from a position where the player can easily strafe out of the way of projectile attacks. The main differences are that Schabbs can take more hits but Otto deals more damage with his rocket projectiles. The battle with Otto is functionally very similar to the fight Doctor Schabbs. Despite dying in the first episode of The Nocturnal Missions the other two episodes see BJ fighting to halt the operation which Otto had already set in motion. I still maintain that a lot of reviewers have no real grasp on the difference between challenging and unfair, and unfortunately this game is unfair for the majority of its length.Otto is the mastermind behind "Giftkrieg," the Nazi chemical warfare initiative. The difficulty balance is much worse in this game though and not only did he just seem to ignore the game's frustrations and never even mentioned them in his review, but he says he played the game on hard, and just mentions that he died a lot. IGN gave it a 9 which is ironic Becuase it was reviewed by Dan Stapleton who moans that the Souls games are too hard and unfair. The game is pretty good, the story and characters are great, but it is also full of frustrating moments due simply the way the game is designed and for me I had a constant love hate relationship with it throughout the time I played it. Thwre is only a button for leaning when you are hip firing, when aiming down sights, which is the only way you can kill enemies at distances, leaning is automatic, but it just doesn't always work like it seems like it should and it just feels clumsy. The biggest problem with it is that it has clearly been designed with both stealth and the use of cover during shoot outs in mind, but the leaning mechanic just doesn't work very well on consoles due to the way it's implemented on the controller. I heard the game is 12 hours and tons of unskippable cutscenes.Ĭlick to expand. The game is very difficult, mainly becuase you die incredibly fast, even on the medium difficulty (bring em on). I think the difficult is harder to pad out the game length imo. I normally play on the most difficult or second to hardest but not enjoying it enough to keep dying from angles I am not aware of. I am playing on the third easiest difficult to get thru the game. I enjoy the dialogue but I don’t feel attached to any character including the blazkowicz. Maybe the game gets way better the deeper you get into the story. The game just doesn’t have a good balance of difficulty plus the aiming seems off. I like difficult games but it just seem to be much more difficult in a unfair advantage over the new order. The game would have to be a 10/10 for me to keep it but so far it’s a 7/10. I’m in New York and met grace for the first time. I will finish the game but I just not enjoying it so far. I just feel like its hard to tell where the shots are coming from. I thought kinda a funny and others were complaining a lot about the combat cause they suck. I don’t enjoy this game nearly as I did the new order.
